Benno also has a private pilot's licence and has flown a Dimona
around most of Europe.
He prefers gliding because he says
it’s the most challenging form of flying,
it's fun and has the best competitions.
Although this is his first International
competition, outside of Germany, he has flown in Minden USA,
in the Alps in Southern France and in Sweden, Poland and England.
Unusually, he has also flown in winter in Wales so that he
could enjoy ridge and wave soaring.
This is Benno's first trip to Australia and he really enjoyed
the opportunity to see some of the county when he drove
around for two weeks collecting gliders.
