Diego Volpi
Occupation: Engineer, Age 30, 2 children
Flight Log - 10 years, 1200 hrs
Championships: 1st in Italian Promotion Championships 1999,
competed in a PW5 in the preWorld Air Games 2000
Gliding was a dream of his when he was a kid, now it is the salt of his life.
Diego enjoys the adventure of flying over places he has never seen before,
but regrets that it doesn't involve his family as much as he would like.
Guido Fontana
Age 37 yrs. Born in Italy, Guido’s home is in Bali, Indonesia, where he spends about six months
each year, employed by a French water company.
The weather in Bali but not for gliding and so he mostly flies from Rieti.
As he says, "it’s important to keep up with your practice", so he has
also flown in South Africa and Spain.
He has been to Australia many times to fly at Lake Keepit.
Guido says that gliding is a selfish sport for those waiting on the ground.
