Age 63, Karl has flown in 53 U.S. National Championships winning fifteen.Flight log: 36 yrs, over 6,000 hours. Has represented the US in nine World Gliding Championships taking the silver twice. Karl has also flown in three Smirnoff Derby's, one Hitachi and two foreign nationals. He has set nine World Distance records in out & return, goal and triangle categories from his magnificent ridge top Eagle Field. Retired cotton farmer, age 61.Earned his 1000K Diploma flying out of New Castle, Virginia. Alfonso has competed in over thirty US National Championships winning the US Sports Class Nationals seven times. He represented Ecuador in the 1991 World Gliding Championship in Uvalde, Texas. Engineer, age 50, married with one child.Flight log: 27 yrs, 4700 hrs. Championships: Hank has flown approximately 20 Nationals in Sports, Standard, and 15-Metre classes. US 15m National Champion 2000, Gold badge with 2 diamonds and 1000k diploma. Of gliding, he says that racing sailplanes with friends is the greatest sport he knows. He likes the continuous challenge brought by the weather. Hank is a member of the SSA Rules Committee and is CFI at his club. He is especially proud of having soloed close to 100 teenage glider pilots, a couple dozen of whom soloed on their 14th birthdays.
